On Sunday, October 17, we will mark another joyous milestone in the history of St. Mary’s for the celebration of the new ministry of George Stevens as our 22nd Rector. At 4:00 PM, Bishop Cederholm will officiate and preach at the traditional service and Eucharist. Many members of our congregation will participate in this rite as well as the Adult and Junior choirs.
We will also recognize our outstanding Search Committee whose diligence, wisdom and discernment helped make this possible.
Special guests will include members of George and Margaret’s families; parishioners from George’s prior parish, St. Johns, Beverly Farms; and clergy from the Deanery and Diocese. A reception will follow in the parish hall, and childcare will be provided in the undercroft during the service and reception.
We want to express our deep appreciation to Elisabeth Comer and the members of Christ the King Church for hosting the reception. It is a true act of Christian generosity that the Presbyterians are assisting with the reception at a time on Sunday afternoon typically set aside for their worship service.
This is an extremely significant event. Please make a special effort to attend. St. Mary’s strong showing will affirm the vitality of our parish to our many guests. Let’s do George proud!
