Cradles to Crayon Outreach Opportunity

This Lenten season St. Mary’s has will host a collection drive for Cradles to Crayons. Cradles to Crayons provides children from birth through age 12, living in homeless or low-income situations, with the essential items they need to thrive – at home, at school and at play.

During the 40 days of Lent, we invite you to bring in new (or like new) clothing for all age children to the blue donation boxes (one box is in the entryway – the other in the narthex). There are ‘shopping lists’ available on the outside of those boxes.

The folks at Cradles to Crayons have a special need for new children’s shoes. The Women of St. Mary’s have provided gift cards for families to use to purchase these items. if you would like to donate one of the $20 gift cards, please call the church office (617-527-4769) for more information );and specify which kind you want (The Barn or Target).

We hope that families will participate in this designated outreach project. Donations of items purchased can be placed in one of the Cradles to Crayons boxes at church. Information sheets listing the needs of Cradles to Crayons are available on each collection box. Gently used children’s clothing are acceptable; underwear and socks must be NEW in order to be accepted.

On Sunday, March 30th, we’ll take a group trip to ‘The Barn’ and then grab a quick lunch together to talk about what it means to be in service to one another. All donations will be sorted at church on Palm Sunday, April 13th.
