On Palm Sunday, March 28 the music will take us from the “Hosannas” of Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem to the cries of anguish at the Cross. The service will begin with a rousing arrangement of the spiritual “Ride On, King Jesus,” sung by alto soloist Lynn Edwards. The Adult Choir will sing the Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) from Mozart’s Mass in C, and a setting of Ave Verum by English composer Edward Elgar.

On Easter Sunday, April 4, the sounds of brass and organ will fill the sanctuary as we welcome Ken Laing, guest trumpeter, to our Easter service. The Adult and Junior Choirs will sing at the 10 a.m. service. The Adult Choir will span the centuries with the 16th-century motet Surrexit Christus Hodie (Our Lord Has Risen Again Today) by German composer Samuel Scheidt, and a setting of the Easter canticle, Christ our Passover by 21st-century composer Jeffrey Rickard. The Junior Choir will sing the French carol Now the Green Blade Rises (Noel nouvelet). Congregation and choirs together will sing Easter hymns to celebrate the Resurrection. Please join us on this festive day!
