This coming Friday, Cristosal (Episcopal Foundation for El Salvador) will host a Wine Tasting and Silent Auction at St. Mary’s. The event will be held in our parish hall from 7PM to 9PM.
All St. Mary’s members and friends are invited to attend, as are other Episcopalian church members and the general public.
Proceeds from the evening will support the Youth Leadership and Women’s Empowerment project at Iglesia San Francisco de Asis in El Pital, Lourdes, El Salvador, an area deeply affected by gang violence. This exciting and innovative project seeks to train, mentor, and support a group of fourteen young women as they form a youth cooperative and establish a library cafe in their community center. This cultural center, to be designed and operated by the youth, will provide books for children in school, coffee, drinks, snacks, workshops, art, vocational training and cultural activities for the whole community.
The evening includes: · Wine tasting with red and white wines provided by Golden Goose Market · Hors d’oeuvres · Live instrumental music by Daniela DeSousa · Guest Speaker Noah Bullock, Executive Director of Foundation Cristosal · Sale of items handcrafted in Cristosal’s partner communities in El Salvador
Cost of the event is $25 per person if you RSVP in advance to Noah Bullock at director.cristosal@gmail.com, or $35 at the door.
